The website of the National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) sets out what the Agency is doing and gives useful information on Ireland's literacy issues. NALA is an independent membership organisation and has been a leading campaigning and lobbying force for literacy since 1980.

NALA's focus is to ensure that all adults have the opportunity to develop their literacy and numeracy skills in a just and equal society, where all types of learning are valued. NALA believes that it is a fundamental human right for all adults to develop their literacy and numeracy skills.
