Literacy Audit

What is the Literacy Auditing Service?
A literacy audit of your organisation will make your organisation more accessible to users, both clients and staff. It involves identifying existing good policy and practice and explores areas for improvment and gaps. The literacy audit itself is a process that can be assisted by a NALA literacy advisor who can help your organisation work through the audit, using a set of tools and checklists. They would engage with management and staff in the process. We usually start with your organisation's policies and procedures, communications methods and staff training and development activities.
The detailed information generated provides the basis for action plans to be drawn up. The organisation can then decide which, if any, actions to progress with.
